Marangu Culture Tour

55.5 Km

Driving from Moshi, you will pass beautiful plantations of bananas, yams, potatoes, and coffee en route to Kinumakori Waterfall. Kinumakori Waterfall in Marangu is not the highest, but it offers a beautiful walk that enables you to see the waterfall from both the bottom and the top. At the waterfall, you can relax in tranquil nature and swim in the cool waters.

The waterfall is located near Marangu village, a typical village of the Chagga people sitting at an altitude of 1,800 meters above sea level.

In the village, we will visit the Chagga cultural center and the caves where the Chagga people hid during the war. Furthermore, you will see traditional Chagga houses and visit the family of a coffee farmer. Together with a guide, the farmer will explain, stage by stage, how to prepare coffee—from picking ripe coffee berries to brewing a delicious final cup.

This trip includes visits to the waterfall, cultural center, underground caves, coffee farm, and traditional Chagga house. It also includes a lunch box, 1.5 liters of drinking water, and banana beer.
